At Veritas sash and case, we do things a bit differently! 

 

Nearly all of the sash window refurbishment companies use brush strip to draught proof your windows. Brush strip when new works well but after a period of time can become flat and less effective. Paint can also be an issue, even the best of painters will struggle to avoid hitting the brush pile because of its positioning within the window frame. Once paint gets on to the brush the pile becomes hard and in turn no longer keeps out the draughts, this can also cause sticking and jamming of the vertical sliding sashes

 

We use a tried and tested system.

 

Schlegel Aquamac 21, is a Q-lon coated gasket which remains flexible should paint fouling occur. However our installation technique ensures the gasket is completely concealed, avoiding any issues with painting. So your windows look as original as possible whilst being rattle and draught free. The Q-lon coating also aids in the operation of your windows making them easier to use.
